Last full day in Addis

Missing our boys in this pic!Daddys sweet little angel.

All smiles!

She loves her sling. She gets so relaxed and vegges immediately! Thanks, Momaw Donna!

Today was our last full day here. We took some pics around our hotel. Later we decided we wanted to go into town for one last shopping adventure. We visited the Markato which is largest open market in Africa. WOW! We couldn't believe our eyes! There were people EVERYWHERE! I must say, we were quite overwhelmed, but glad we experienced it. We've had a wonderful time here vistiting Ethiopia, but we are sooo exhausted and ready to come home. Although we know the next 30 hours will be even more exhausting, we will be able to unite with our boys, families and friends, and develop our new "normal". Looking soo forward to that. We would like to ask for special prayers for our travels in the upcoming days. We check out of our hotel by noon tomorrow. We'll head to the airport around 10 til 5. And we leave for Dubai at 7:35. We then have a 13 hour and 45 min. flight to New York. Shew...please pray! We have a five hour layover there, and leave JFK at 1:30 which should put us at CVG at 3:58 p.m. Looking forward to seeing friends and family at the airport, then head home to catch up with our boys and bond as a family of 5! Wow! Thanks in advance for your prayers. We will try to post in the morning, but if not, see you at home on the 4th!

Lola Joy Making Noises

Lola loves to hear herself talk and make noises. We thought this was funny and wanted to share it with everyone.

Pretty in pink!True to her name...JOY!!

Some sites from the streets of Addis Ababa.
This beautiful woman sold us a coffee pot.

Flower Girl!
Today we had a wonderful journey into the city of Addis Ababa to learn more about our daughter's birth country, her heritage, and her culture. As we toured, we wanted to take it all in so that we would have a story to tell this little Ethiopian Princess when she is ready to know. We want to teach her all about her birthplace, the people, the history. She was born in a beautiful place, and God being the sovereign God that He is chose US to be Lola Joy's Mommy and Daddy. This is overwhelming to us. We are overjoyed and do not take this commitment lightly. Lola's birth name Kalkidane (Cal-Kee-Dun), means God's Promise. God's Promise to us, and our promise to God. Doug and I wish to honor God and bring Lola Joy, Brennan Douglas, and Bryson Quinn to the feet of Jesus. To learn to trust Him , to give Him their all..as it is His to begin with, and to serve Him all the days of their lives. There may be a day when Miss Lola decides she wants to come back to her birth country. All we can pray for is that she will share Jesus with the Fatherless, the widows, and the least of these. We have witnessed Jesus in the least of these. The beggars, the blind, the fatherless..but He knows their name. He knows how many hairs are on their heads. He is Mighty to Save.
Thank you Lord for this Indescribable gift, for you are good!
