Touring Beijing-Day 2

Today was another amazing day in China. We woke up and skyped the kiddos. It's so hard to be happy on Skype when you just want to break down and cry because you miss your babies so much. They seem to be doing very well. We are too, it's just hard when you see them, you're reminded of how much you wish you could hold them, squeeze them, smell them, and kiss them. But, we're soo thankful to be able to Skype them. Then we headed to breakfast..french toast, bacon, watermelon, and orange juice. Very good. It was time for The Great Wall. Our tour guides are doing an amazing job of giving us a crash course in the History of this great country. The scenery was simply breathtaking. This is The Great Wall. It felt like we were traveling on a stairway to heaven...would we ever see the top?
How exhilarating!!!
Here we were on our way back down...our legs felt like jello!!

It was time for lunch at another local restaurant. This is what we were served.

Here was my plate. And yes, Doug ate it again!!! WOW!

We had the amazing opportunity to see the Olympic village. Here was the bird's nest.

The day ended with an incredible acrobatics show! We were wowed for sure!
The people here are so nice. Doug was asked to be in a pic with a random guy on the street. :-) The weather is wonderful..very pleasant...and we are loving it. Tonight we are packing and getting ready for tomorrow. We leave our hotel at 8:00 a.m. (8 p.m. for you) to fly into Lily's province. We're so close to getting our little sweetie now!!! Thanks for your prayers!! We are so thankful!!!
Goodnight from Beijing!

Thinking about you this A.M. at breakfast! It was 9:46 wonder what you were doing. Big Daddy just finally got all our pics/video from China done and we watched it this morning! Max's team fell to your GC Braves last night. One of your first students is now a senior! Wish he could come to welcome Lily home but he'll have a game. Leah and I will see you though! Can't wait to read more details! Any other friends and family checking in make sure to leave comments because even with wonderful things going on it's hard to be away from home! You guys are so loved! You're being prayed for and that of course includes that gorgeous bunch here at home waiting for their sister!!! xoxoxox
